
Local councillor chosen as Lib Dem parliamentary candidate for Gloucester
Rebecca Trimnell, who is a councillor for Westgate on the city council, was chosen by local Lib Dem party members.
Councillor Rebecca Trimnell and Councillor Howard Hyman are the Liberal Democrat team for Westgate.
Rebecca, who lives in the ward close to Gloucester Cathedral, was elected in a by-election in March 2023 and won her seat from the Conservatives. She is now the cabinet member for community engagement.
Howard Hyman, who lives in Westgate, is an experienced councillor and former Mayor of Gloucester. He was first elected to represent Westgate in May 2024 having served as a councillor in Elmbridge ward since 2016.
Rebecca will be the Liberal Democrat candidate for Westgate & Hempsted division in May's county council elections.
