Councillor Caroline Courtney and Joshua Hanley are part of the Liberal Democrat team for Tuffley.

Caroline, who lives on Stroud Road near to St Barnabas Church, was first elected to the city council in May 2021. She is the cabinet member for culture and leisure.

Joshua Hanley grew up in Tuffley, went to local schools and is now raising his family here.

He is a sports coach and has helped run local football teams.

Postal Vote fraud trial begins

The first full Election Court for thirty years yesterday begun sitting to looking in the allegations that six Labour Councillors and their agents committed postal vote fraud in last year's local elections.

Parking Questionnaire hits Epsom High Street

Lib Dem prospective parliamentary candidate Jonathan Lees was asking people for their views on parking restrictions in South Street and High Street, Epsom last Saturday. He was joined by other members of the Lib Dem FOCUS team, including County Councillor Colin Taylor and Woodcote ward borough council candidate Lionel Blackman. Over 200 surveys were completed in one morning.

Higher Pay for Shepway Councillors Condemned

The Liberal Democrat group on Shepway District Council is demanding that the Council's budget for 2005/06 be changed to eliminate an increase in councillors' allowances contained in the proposals being made by the controlling Conservative group.

Lionel Blackman stands for Lib Dems in Woodcote by-election

For the Woodcote by-election, the Liberal Democrats have chosen the well-known local solicitor Lionel Blackman, who lives in the heart of Woodcote ward. Lionel wants to see Woodcote get a better deal. He says "I think Woodcote residents have been well served by their Lib Dem councillors in the past. They were utterly committed, reliable and professional. I am determined to carry on their good work."
