Councillor Caroline Courtney and Joshua Hanley are part of the Liberal Democrat team for Tuffley.

Caroline, who lives on Stroud Road near to St Barnabas Church, was first elected to the city council in May 2021. She is the cabinet member for culture and leisure.

Joshua Hanley grew up in Tuffley, went to local schools and is now raising his family here.

He is a sports coach and has helped run local football teams.

New Liberal Democrat Leader announced

Blackburn with Darwen Liberal Democrats elected Cllr. David Foster as their new Group Leader for 2006/7. Cllr. Foster paid tribute to Cllr. Paul Browne who had been Leader for over 20 years and commented on how the Party had grown from 2 seats to 13 under his leadership.

Farron highlights threat to Coronary Care Unit in House of Commons

Local MP Tim Farron today used Health Questions in the House of Commons to highlight the threat to the Westmorland General's Coronary Care Unit. He pointed out the unit could close due to the local hospital trust's deficit, which pales into insignificance when compared to the over spend on the new NHS IT system 'Connecting for Health'.
