Councillor Caroline Courtney and Joshua Hanley are part of the Liberal Democrat team for Tuffley.

Caroline, who lives on Stroud Road near to St Barnabas Church, was first elected to the city council in May 2021. She is the cabinet member for culture and leisure.

Joshua Hanley grew up in Tuffley, went to local schools and is now raising his family here.

He is a sports coach and has helped run local football teams.

Top "agony aunt" Claire Rayner visited residents of Holywell House in Folkestone yesterday to boost Peter Carroll's campaign to beat Michael Howard. Claire told residents that she was a supporter of the Labour Party for over 50 years. She has now switched her support to the Lib Dems.

The period for public consultation on the proposal for schools in Harefield, Bitterne Park and Townhill area has completed and the proposal will now go to the school organisation committee in May. David Goodall, the Parliamentary candidate for Southampton Itchen, says "At present the main concern I have is over the proposed changes to the schools in Harefield"
