Where have all the flowers gone?

One of the few advantages of the lockdown was the huge reduction in the number of vehicles on the road giving Gloucestershire Highways opportunities to work on resurfacing some roads.

David Brown said: "I received many complaints from motorists extremely concerned about the size of the potholes on long sections of Corinium Avenue.

"In this case it was clear to Gloucestershire Highways that urgent work was needed and I was grateful to them for the prompt response and the high standard of the new road surface.

"Unfortunately, it wasn't long before the wild flowers along the central reservation were cut by the council.

"At a time when the council are looking to improve natural habitats to encourage butterflies, bees and other wild insects it's disappointing such areas away from residents' properties are being cut back.

"I have asked those responsible for more joined-up thinking."
