Westgate Ward News in Brief - June 2018

20 Jun 2018

● Rebecca has requested a dog-poo bin to be installed under bridges that cross the River Severn by Westgate
Park.
● Jeremy has been asking the council to clear litter bins more regularly. The one under the archway by the
Deans Walk Inn is regularly overflowing, leaving litter everywhere.
● The footpath on Priory Road is obstructed by overgrown bushes, which Rebecca has asked to be cut back.
● It has been confirmed in a reply to Jeremy Hilton that St. Oswald's Road from Kingsholm roundabout to
Westgate Island will be completely resurfaced during this financial year.
● The county council has told Rebecca and Jeremy that it is to consider a review of residents' parking schemes
in Gloucester. Do you have any suggestions or complaints about the current scheme?
● The Canals and River Trust has made a presentation to the regeneration advisory board about better use
of the water at Gloucester Docks. This would include a marina in Monk Meadow Basin and more boat
service points in the Docks and along the canal.
