Overgrown trees on Tewkesbury Road Linda Castle and Sarah Sawyer have asked the council to cut back the trees on the corner of Tewkesbury Road opposite the sign for Fairmile Garden, by the bus stop. Find out more here. Estcourt Road slip road to be resurfaced The Estcourt Road concrete slip road in Longlevens is to be resurfaced as a part of a £3 million scheme by the county council. Find out more here. Bike Marking event A bike marking event will take place in Longlevens at the library on August 26, from 5pm until 8pm. Having your bike marked helps prevent theft. Improving cycling locally Gloucestershire County Council has asked Government for over £10 million to transform active and green travel across the county. The bid prioritises funding for a six mile-long Cheltenham to Gloucester B4063 cycle link through Longlevens. This cycle way is included in existing plans and will connect Gloucester city, Tewkesbury district and Cheltenham borough. Find out more here. Local residents are being warned not to lose their voice on decisions that affect them by making sure their electoral registration details are up to date. Views sought on plans for parks and open spaces Residents are being encouraged to take part in a consultation about the future of Gloucester's parks and open spaces. City wins award Gloucester has been awarded a purple flag for a third year in a row. The award recognises towns or cities that have a safe and welcoming night-time economy. The streets, hills, parks, docks and public places of Gloucester are set come alive with selected words, lyrics and poems penned by 30 residents of Gloucestershire, in a major new artwork from international artist Luke Jerram. Among the locations being used for the Of Earth and Sky project are Plock Court, Elmbridge Park and Armscroft Park. The event is running from Monday August 24 to Sunday November 1.
