Thank you Longlevens

Thank you NHS

The Liberal Democrats want to say thank you to everyone in Longlevens who has helped other members of the community over the last few months during the Covid-19 lockdown.

Coronavirus is the biggest peacetime crisis our country has faced in generations.

And in tough times Longlevens pulled together to help each other - especially the most vulnerable.

The Lib Dems have worked with communities across Gloucester over the last few months.

In Longlevens Sarah Sawyer, who is the leader of the Friends of Elmbridge group, helped organise the delivery of thousands of community champion leaflets across the area.

Hundreds of people volunteered to represent their street and help neighbours.

Sarah Sawyer said: "Our community is at its best when we pull together and it has been amazing to see Longlevens's residents help each other at such a difficult time.

"It has been hard not seeing family and home schooling has been challenging for many.

"This crisis has highlighted how precarious some peoples lives are, how they are in or very close to poverty and how insecure jobs can be.

"We would love to see the community spirit in Longlevens get stronger and believe as many people as possible should be involved in helping shape the future of Longlevens.

"We would like to support the creation of a new non-political community group, Friends of Longlevens."
