A road sign gaffe in Quedgeley left local motorists amused.
The sign at the Tesco roundabout on Bristol Road was directing motorists to “Eimare” and “Stonebech” instead of Elmore and Stonebench.
Liam Harries reported the mistakes to the county council highways department and asked for the errors to be rectified as soon as possible, which has now been fixed.
“It’s embarrassing the county council cannot even spell the names of two local areas properly,” said Liam Harries.
“It might be funny for local residents who know the area well but visitors might be left confused by the gaffe.
“The county council cannot even get a street sign right.”
Liam Harries and Trevor Howard have also reported to the council potholes for fixing.
These include a series of potholes in Goshawk Road, as well as potholes in Carter’s Orchard and Sims Lane.
“If local residents know of any more potholes in Quedgeley we would like them to let us know so that we can challenge the county council to fix them,” added Trevor Howard.
“As winter approaches the roads are likely to get worse from the snow and ice, so it’s important
the county council keep on top of repairs.”
