Pressing on with highways work despite ‘lockdown’
In recent years, Councillor David Brown has been successful in bringing forward resurfacing work on several roads across Hucclecote.
These included sections of nearby roads such as Carisbrooke Road, Green Lane (with much support from residents) and also Kingscroft Road early this year.
Councillor Brown said: "I took the local highways manager to Billbrook Road many times to point out the appalling state of the side of the road not used for residents' parking.
"Finally, with the constant reports of potholes I convinced Gloucestershire Highways that action was needed.
"I was able to bring forward the date for the work with a contribution of some of the Highways Local funding available to me as the local county councillor."
The work was carried out in April with line painting of the necessary road markings a little later.
