Gloucester City Football Club say they are on schedule with the construction of the new ground to be able to start playing back home again at the start of the football season.

Since the floods in 2007 Gloucester City AFC have played home games at Cirencester, Forest Green, Cheltenham and most recently Evesham.

The new ground will have a 3,208 capacity with two 350-seater stands either side of the existing

clubhouse and the Tom Webb T-End

The new 3G surface will enable all-year-round training, for the men's, ladies' and under 18s teams.

Former chair of the football task group Jeremy Hilton said: "It's been 13 years since the Tigers last played at Meadow Park.

"The team have done so well to survive in that time. Let's hope that there is a good crowd for the first game and that the home side win."
