ELMBRIDGE GETS NEW LITTER BINS

2 Jan 2018

Several residents have contacted Councillors Ryall and Hyman to ask whether new bins could be installed at bus stops on Cheltenham Road and Barnwood Road as a means of reducing litter.

On an inspection of bus stops in Elmbridge, it was clear that rubbish left at some bus stops was causing a real eye-sore.

Councillor Hyman said: "As someone who regularly uses buses, I feel it is important for bins to be provided.

"The strategic placement of a bin helps to reduce littering."

Councillor Ryall added: "I am very pleased that in response to residents requests we have managed to get three bins installed at bus stops in the ward and are hoping for a fourth.

"This has had a noticeable effect on the amount of litter left in the area."
