Liberal Democrat city councillor for Podsmead Sebastian Field is working to resolve some highways issues in his ward.

The road surface on Scott Avenue has been repeatedly marked with potholes. Sebastian has reported them to Gloucestershire Highways and some have been filled, only for new ones to appear.

He has also been in touch with the city council to try to resolve the problem parking on the grass at Scott Avenue, which has caused some damage to the grass.

Sebastian said: "What Scott Avenue needs is a resurface. I asked a question of the county council cabinet member for Highways in February and was told that the road does not yet meet the threshold for resurfacing.

"It is a shame that the Conservative administration at Shire Hall is not willing to invest in our roads.

"The damage to the road surface is caused by heavier use down one side, as there are usually cars parked along the pavement. It might be worth looking at making it one way or widening the roadway.

"We could also look into putting some wooden posts along the grass verge to prevent problem parking."
