Blinkhorns Bridge underpass flooding

13 Jul 2018

Several residents have contacted Elmbridge councillors over problems with lighting and flooding at the Blinkhorns Bridge Lane underpass.

Residents have expressed concern over safety when walking under the bridge, and finding it unlit, flooded and covered with algae.

Councillor Howard Hyman has been working hard to find out who is responsible as the land is owned by several agents as well as Network Rail.

Howard said: "I have been contacting various parties in order to find out who is responsible for maintaining the bridge.

"It is a very complicated issue but I am pleased to say that the lights are now working and the flooding has cleared.

"This walkway is an important path for residents going to the supermarket and it needs to be well lit and safe."
