Action on Hucclecote Road "Ponding"

20 Jun 2018

Recent heavy rain has once again highlighted the
faults with some of the gullies / drains along the
main road through Hucclecote. At these times
surface water (ponding) at the junction with North
Upton Lane does not drain away as it should,
causing difficulties for motorists, cyclists and
pedestrians.
Cllr David Brown told Spotlight, "various
solutions have been tried by Gloucestershire
Highways but still we have significant ponding at
this junction every time there is a downpour.
This may have been frustrating for Highways but
it has also been frustrating for all those using this
busy stretch of road. I have kept the pressure on
and persistence has paid off. The Local
Highways Manager has now agreed to take
investigations a stage further'.
