Abbeymead Avenue / Metz Way Work Improvement Details

Work is expected to commence early July


The Spotlight team have been advised that this scheme to
improve traffic flows along the Abbeymead Ave - Metz Way
route corridor is expected to commence early July and
complete by early December.
The scheme involves the following work:


1. Metz Way junction with ASDA : upgrading traffic lights

2. Metz Way junction with Eastern Ave :modification to
highway alignment, upgrading traffic signals

3. Metz Way, adjacent to St Lawrence Rd : upgrading pedestrian
crossing to toucan crossing

4. Abbeymead Ave / Coney Hill roundabout : widening existing
shared use footway/cycleway from North Upton Lane to and
around Coney Hill roundabout

5. Abbeymead Ave junction with North Upton Lane :
improvements to highway alignment, upgrading traffic lights

6. Abbeymead Ave, south of Oaks roundabout : upgrading
pedestrian crossing to toucan crossing

7. Abbeymead Ave junction with Kimberland Way : upgrading
pedestrian crossing to toucan crossing

8. Abbeymead Ave, south of Mead Rd : upgrading pedestrian
crossing to toucan crossing
