The Liberal Democrats were the biggest gainers in Wolverhampton in yesterday's General Election. In all three seats the Liberal Democrats gained more votes and an increased share of the vote.
The full results of the six Kent County Council Divisions in the Shepway area on 5th May 2005 (Elham Valley, Folkestone North East, Folkestone South, Folkestone West, Hythe and Romney Marsh) were as follows:
Matt Lambert says a big thank-you to everyone who voted for him in the Maldon & East Chelmsford Parliamentary election. He said, "Despite fielding a small team and limited resources, we increased our vote against the massive efforts put in by the other two parties. The Lib Dem share was UP 4.2% and Labour DOWN by a crushing 6%.
The opinion polls all say the move is for greater Liberal Democrat involvement in the next parliament, however the only real poll is today. I would urge everyone to vote. The only vote that does not count is the unused one.
Everyone knows that the result of today's election will be the closest ever seen in our area. After 22 years of Mr Howard as our MP, there is a real mood for change - and YOU have the power to make it happen today.
