WATER SHORTAGE THREAT REQUIRES URGENT MEASURES - BAKER
Norman Baker MP, Liberal Democrat Shadow Environment Secretary, has today called for Government action to ensure sufficient water resources in the medium term.
Councillor Caroline Courtney and Joshua Hanley are part of the Liberal Democrat team for Tuffley.
Caroline, who lives on Stroud Road near to St Barnabas Church, was first elected to the city council in May 2021. She is the cabinet member for culture and leisure.
Joshua Hanley grew up in Tuffley, went to local schools and is now raising his family here.
He is a sports coach and has helped run local football teams.

Proposals in announced in yesterday's Queen's Speech to end free school transport were wholeheartedly condemned today by Totnes Liberal Prospective Parliamentary Candidate, Mike Treleaven. Speaking after the proposals were put forward he said:

Responding to reports that troubled nuclear power provider, British Energy, has asked the government to increase its current loan from the taxpayer, Malcolm Bruce MP, Liberal Democrat Shadow DTI Secretary, is writing to DTI Secretary Patricia Hewitt to urge her to refuse any loan increase. Mr Bruce said:
The Queen's Speech has shown that the Government has abandoned the environment according to the Liberal Democrats.
Baroness Sue Miller, Liberal Democrat DEFRA Spokesperson in the House of Lords, will tomorrow call on the Government to take advantage of Local Food Links' experience to bring healthy food into the heart of communities in Britain.
