GKN Site Development
The final plans for the development of the former GKN site in Springvale were reviewed by residents and local Liberal Democrat councillors at a meeting held on the 20th January last.
Councillor Caroline Courtney and Joshua Hanley are part of the Liberal Democrat team for Tuffley.
Caroline, who lives on Stroud Road near to St Barnabas Church, was first elected to the city council in May 2021. She is the cabinet member for culture and leisure.
Joshua Hanley grew up in Tuffley, went to local schools and is now raising his family here.
He is a sports coach and has helped run local football teams.

Sandra brings a great deal of experience to SpringVale having been on the Council for four years representing Fallings Park ward. Lib Dem campaigner Peter Carroll is writing to the Chief Constable of Kent to demand that Operation Stack be changed. Peter said, 'Literally hundreds of local residents are having their journeys home completely ruined by Operation Stack. I understand that Stack has to run in some form. However, I do not believe that the WHOLE motorway needs to be shut down. I am asking the Chief Constable to examine if it is possible to keep at least one motorway lane open.'

Hythe Councillor Neil Matthews has today written to the Leader of Shepway District Council to ask Shepway to urgently consider funding for the renovation of the Town Square in Hythe.
