Councillor Caroline Courtney and Joshua Hanley are part of the Liberal Democrat team for Tuffley.

Caroline, who lives on Stroud Road near to St Barnabas Church, was first elected to the city council in May 2021. She is the cabinet member for culture and leisure.

Joshua Hanley grew up in Tuffley, went to local schools and is now raising his family here.

He is a sports coach and has helped run local football teams.

The UK can already exclude or deport those who pose a threat to security and the premier said he wanted to clamp down on those who advocated terror. Mr Blair said he was prepared to amend human rights laws to make deportations more straightforward.

Identity cards could create a "health underclass", the Liberal Democrats have warned as opponents of the scheme intensify their campaign. Lib Dem health spokesman Steve Webb said he feared people without ID cards could be prevented from seeing NHS doctors - except in emergencies.

Lydd Airport expansion 'bad for area'

Airport expansion is bad for the South East's economy, a report has claimed. Friends of the Earth said the boom in aviation is costing the region three times more than it gains. Using data from the Office of National Statistics, it said UK travellers are spending £2.7bn more abroad per year than foreigners flying to the area.
