Flying start for Carroll's campaign
With local streets turning orange with Lib Dem posters, Peter Carroll's campaign to become the next MP for Folkestone and Hythe was officially launched at the Leas Cliff Hall on Saturday night.
Councillor Caroline Courtney and Joshua Hanley are part of the Liberal Democrat team for Tuffley.
Caroline, who lives on Stroud Road near to St Barnabas Church, was first elected to the city council in May 2021. She is the cabinet member for culture and leisure.
Joshua Hanley grew up in Tuffley, went to local schools and is now raising his family here.
He is a sports coach and has helped run local football teams.

Woking Lib Dems adopted Dr Anne Lee as their candidate for the General Election at a packed meeting in the Maybury Centre on April 9. Guildford's MP Sue Doughty who ended a long history of Tory MPs at the last General Election was present to wish Anne well. She said that Woking's position strongly resembled Guildford's four years ago, and that today both the Tories and Labour were weaker than they had been then.
