Tory Tax Hike For Shepway
Council Tax for local residents is going up by over 15% this year. This latest tax rise by the Conservative run local Councils mean Band D residents will see their bill rise over the £1000 mark.
Councillor Caroline Courtney and Joshua Hanley are part of the Liberal Democrat team for Tuffley.
Caroline, who lives on Stroud Road near to St Barnabas Church, was first elected to the city council in May 2021. She is the cabinet member for culture and leisure.
Joshua Hanley grew up in Tuffley, went to local schools and is now raising his family here.
He is a sports coach and has helped run local football teams.

Bedford Borough Liberal Democrats have challenged the 2 councillors who have deserted their electorate to resign and stand again under their true colours.
Local Lib Dems have launched their campaign to win control of Shepway Council on 1st May.

More needs to be done to attract new jobs, shops and leisure facilities to Folkestone say local Lib Dems. Folkestone's Town Centre has never been in a worse state according to many local residents.
Local Lib Dems are pledging to improve recycling across the Folkestone and Hawkinge area if elected to run Shepway Council in May. They believe the Conservative run Council has not done enough to provide a decent service to local people.
