SUSTAINABLE ENERGY BILL - Moving on to the House of Lords!
Today (July 4th 2003) the Sustainable Energy Bill completed its Third Reading in the House of Commons.
Councillor Caroline Courtney and Joshua Hanley are part of the Liberal Democrat team for Tuffley.
Caroline, who lives on Stroud Road near to St Barnabas Church, was first elected to the city council in May 2021. She is the cabinet member for culture and leisure.
Joshua Hanley grew up in Tuffley, went to local schools and is now raising his family here.
He is a sports coach and has helped run local football teams.

The European Parliament this week looks to be heading towards a major disagreement with EU transport ministers over the future of the so-called ecopoints system for managing lorry transit through Austria. The existing system is due to expire at the end of this year.
New cars will have to pass safety tests designed to protect pedestrians from death or serious injury, as MEPs are expected to agree a new EU Directive on pedestrian safety today.
British flowerpots are set to gain a new status after MEPs acted to correct a costly blunder that has piled unnecessary charges on nurseries and garden centres.
Profits from DSD, the direct services department of the borough council, should be used to stop increases in next years council tax rate according to local Liberal Democrats.
