Councillor Caroline Courtney and Joshua Hanley are part of the Liberal Democrat team for Tuffley.

Caroline, who lives on Stroud Road near to St Barnabas Church, was first elected to the city council in May 2021. She is the cabinet member for culture and leisure.

Joshua Hanley grew up in Tuffley, went to local schools and is now raising his family here.

He is a sports coach and has helped run local football teams.

Local campaigner Emily Sanger has been nominated as the Liberal Democrat candidate for the Folkestone Town Council by-election in Harbour ward. The election will be held on June 9th following the resignation of the sitting councillor.

Liberal Democrat Councillor for Tay Bridges Ward, Cllr Fraser Macpherson today welcomed news that the works necessary to remove the dumped rubble and other debris at High Mill has now been carried out under the City Council's enforcement direct action powers by Dundee Contract Services.

David Goodall reports: Peartree House is a centre which is dedicated to rehabilitating younger people with an acquired brain injury. The residents of Peartree House took a keen interest in the general election and particular matters relating to disability and the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA). After the election they invited all the Southampton Itchen candidates to the centre to see it and their work on the DDA.

Shepway's Heroes Return

Shepway's Second World War veterans have until the end of May to take up the opportunity of a grant for travel costs to revisit the countries where they served. Nearly 400 people from the south of England are being given the opportunity to travel overseas and remember fallen comrades from World War II.

Sanger Welcomes Improved Shepway Recycling Services

Local campaigner Emily Sanger has welcomed the improved recycling service to be rolled out across Folkestone in the next few weeks. The first batch of boxes and bags for Shepway Council's new waste management service will be delivered next week (week beginning Monday 15 May).
