Scot Lib Dem MPs back motion to block Winter Fuel Payments cut
Liberal Democrats have announced that they will table a motion to block the government’s proposed cut to Winter Fuel Payments as soon as Parliament returns from recess next week.
Councillor Caroline Courtney and Joshua Hanley are part of the Liberal Democrat team for Tuffley.
Caroline, who lives on Stroud Road near to St Barnabas Church, was first elected to the city council in May 2021. She is the cabinet member for culture and leisure.
Joshua Hanley grew up in Tuffley, went to local schools and is now raising his family here.
He is a sports coach and has helped run local football teams.

Nearly 100,000 pensioners across Shropshire and Telford are at risk of losing the £300 payment this winter – including 21,803 in North Shropshire.
Liberal Democrat MP for Winchester, Danny Chambers has backed a motion in Parliament to block government plans to scrap Winter Fuel Payments for most pensioners.
