Save the Debenhams building from demolition

The Debenhams department store in Kings Square is closing after the retailer went into administration. The future of the building remains uncertain with reports suggesting it has been put up for sale by its owners. The site is listed as a 'positive building' - meaning it cannot be demolished without permission from Gloucester City Council.
Councillor Jeremy Hilton, as lead petitioner, will keep you updated by email with key developments.
I/we call on Gloucester City Council to rule out under any circumstances the demolition of the Debenhams building. It is a landmark building at the heart of our city centre. We love it. The council must direct the new owners to repurpose and restore it so that it can stand proud as a permanent building adjacent to Kings Square.
